    Hi Kermarag
A word of caution concerning Vslot/Europe.
I'm building the OX and bought most of the bits and bobs from OpenBuilds store.

But having bought large consignments from abroad in the past you get robbed by customs and excise here in the UK when they come after you for Import duty. So I bought my rails from Metallin (based in Austria) and my OX plates from Vslot/Europe.

The holes on the plates were misaligned and I spent days trying to align the wheels to get the Vslot to fit. In the end I had to drill the holes slightly bigger (made them slightly oblong) and used Eccentric spacer on all of them giving me more room to maneuver. Now got that sorted and ready to mount on the base board. It was a nightmare. I expect all the other parts they sell are OK but I wont be going back there for anything else.

I've been to both Robocutters and ooznest and they seem OK . The Openbuild store is great and only took a week to get here (Lincolnshire).

Hope this helps you and anyone else.

    Hi Fabian,
I've ordered december the 21th and the parcel was arrived only this monday. We are away from the 10 days annonced by the vendor. While searching more informations, I fount lot of misspellings in the french and it was difficult to be in contact with him.
But I've well received the parcel and the frame is built. I didn't see missalignement. I understand you for your misgiving about it. Next time I'll check on other vendors :).

    Hi Kermareg,

Did you order the OX mechanical kit? I did (with v-slot europe) and I got it last Friday. I started off with the Z-axis but soon found there are multiple issues with what I had delivered. I also ordered limit-switch kits and first they were out of stock, then he was going to mill them himself, and in the end I did not receive them (yet?). I also found that there were no eccentric spacers and the 20mm screws were missing as well. The three spacers for the nema17 motor were not the same size (two are 1.5", one is 40mm). Because I do not have eccentric spacers I have not gone any further than building the Z axis. Once I have them, I will have to take it apart anyway to do it right. Therefore I am anxious that there may be more issues, but I would not know because no parts list is included. Perhaps I should compare it to the parts list in the original build on the forum.

Now, mistakes happen and I am happy to forgive any mistake if properly fixed, but communicating with this person is very difficult. At the time of ordering I asked two questions (invoice dated in 2014 and wanted to make sure that I did not have to cut any profiles myself). Even though neither question was a problem, I never got an answer, Then on Januari 7th I asked how much it would cost me extra if I could get the kit first and then the limit switch kits later. I got this reply:

From this, I had no idea what he intended to do, it could go either way, so I asked for a confirmation that I understood correctly that he could in fact send out the OX instantly and asked him to do so: no response. After a week I sent another message asking when he was going to send it. The answer I got was 'soon'. A day later the order went to 'processing' state and 4 days after that to 'shipped'. It said I would get the tracking number 'soon' and when I did not get it after a couple of days, I once again mailed to request it, so I could organise something in case delivery was planned at a time no one was home. I never got an answer and the package was delivered at a time my wife was (fortunately) at home.

Last Saturday I sent the mail with respect to the missing or bad items. I understand that it is weekend for them too, but from a professional webshop I would expect that they send a reply as soon as they find such a mail on monday. No such thing, though.

If I do not get a reply from them tomorrow, I will compose a mail probably as lengthy as this post, trying to avoid a rant-mode but clearly stating that this is not the way you do business. If that does not motivate them to solve the issues, then I will probably issue a dispute at paypal.

I would hope other people would have seen my post above and saved themselves some grief. My advise would be to get your stuff from Openbuild (I'm not affiliated with the site) as it was the first to bring out the OX and all these other firms you see on the Internet have merely jumped on the bandwagon seeing it as a good earner.

I learned the hard way, but I'm glad now that I know what to expect.

    Hi Hck,.
I've built the complete kit (without electronic)
I got the same problem: the field were the tracking number should be inserted wasn't completed, I've had to take contact with him to have the tracking number (which I've paid in my shipping fees...) My feeling is that it lacks serious...
Same for me, thanks to my girlfriend...

In my case, I've received all the parts but I've got too much screws (as there is no building plans, they causes confusion). The spacers for the nema 17 motors looks to be at the same lenght (I'll check this afternoon). I've a little issue on the 8mm screw: it's hard to turn it in the bolt. I'm asking me how a little nema17 will move my Z axis which is too tighten and what will be with a "heavy" spindle ?

For my next order, I'll follow the advice of Fabian23. I'm disappointed of the service of the vendor. It's not normal to have so many difficulties to join him.

I actually have a question for those who ordered at vslot-europe.com. On my invoice there was no tax (VAT) mentioned. I paid 450 for the OX kit and 0 tax. How was this with the others who ordered there? Did you also supply a VAT number? Just curious.

hck; It would be best you don't shout about it. If you didn't pay, then think yourself lucky!! :zipit:

Kermareg: I believe the answer, to the tight screw, is to run it up and down using a Drill. It doesn't take too long for it to free up and to be functional.

The prices are vat imclued. A special things is if you look in the terms, he says that his vat number is not applicable s in the French laws, his activity is a complementary one.

GrayUK, yep, but it's a trapezoidal one. How can I drill it to respect the diameter and the thread (filet? - sorry for my English)

The reason I asked is if the VAT was specified, I would get it returned through the Dutch tax system. I found the line now as well, and an explanation somewhere on the internet. My French isn't what it used to be. :)

You get it started in the thread and put the drill on the end of it. Put some lub on the thread and slowly screw it in and out. It should ease the thread.

Yay, I got a reply. He's sending me all the missing items. I can't tell you how pleased I am with that. :) If this all works out I will give him the benefit of the doubt and perhaps even order from him again. I don't think he's been in business for a long time (a couple of weeks ago his FAQ and Terms and Conditions were filled with Lorem Ipsum) so maybe he still has to learn.
