im using the xtension limit switch kit and i checked the wiring. all the switches look and function correctly. When i crash the machine, my computer shut off and stopped working. This has happened twice. What do i need to do to stop usb surges? i dont really want to throw another computer at it till i know its fixed
It’s pretty simple wiring, idk what could be messed up. The red and black provide 24v, the two black go to the vfd 10v
Yeah nothing pops our immediately obvious. Isolate the VFD from the setup and see if the same happens, in case its backfeeding?
isolate the vfd? how would i go about doing that? See if the same happens? purposely crash my machine with a laptop connected and see if it crashes it? lol the computer stopping working is permanent, i can no longer turn them both on. so i would rather not play the guessing game with computers
Unplug it entirely. Mains and control cabling. Take it out the picture (as a third party component, first suspect) Cheap USB hub in between... USB ports are well protected, so can't imagine what goes wrong to actually kill it What's the purchase date of your BlackBox?
i purchased my blackbox friday. I like the idea of adding a cheap usb hub in between, appreciate the suggestion. I cant imagine either
You should be golden. Latest version is best one yet Any other 3rd party parts involved? Different brand PSU, etc?
nope, all openbuild stuff, vfd and computers arent openbuilds. Also this vfd/spindle ran on my shapeoko for a year prior to this new machine. and both computers i used for almost a year prior. one on a plasma table and one on my shapeoko
