    Hi,

First sorry if my thread is not in the good place.

I recently made a try to cut paper with a roland cutter, everything works fine except the offset, when I made a test with a non printed support, it works fine. But I have the project to make stickers, design with inkscape, print with my laser printer, and cut with my machine (lead 1510, i know it's a guenuine product).

I've imported my file to cam.openbuilds.com, make a drag knife cut job. When the job is done, i have 5 mm offset on Y axis. And I don't find how to proceed to make a correct cut.

I tested to move my Y axis from openbuilds control 100 mm and measure, it work's correctly, and x too.

You can see my test, the red line is the path which must be cut.

Does someone have an idea to solve my problem ?

    Best regards,

    David.

There is no line-up capability built into this workflow, the professional vinyl cutters look for optical alignment marks on the print, to plan where to cut. Drag knife in CAM is great for just cutting out vinyl. For advanced use cases like these, you may be better off getting a real vinyl cutter, you can get 600mm wide ones starting from around 300-400 and will really enhance your signage business workflow

Can you use your laser to make registration marks that you can use to set your wcs zero for the knife?

I tested with an a4 page, my zero x/y coord is the bottom corner of the page.

I think as Peter said that the CNC is not precise enough for these kind of project.

of course it is precise enough (-: (you did calibrate it, right?) , the difficulty lies in finding the 0,0 point relative to the existing pattern on the vinyl.

When you design for your laser, include an outline around the whole batch of stickers - smaller than the sheet you plan to use. When you design the toolpaths for the drag knife include the same outline and use the lasered one to align your sheet with the wcs zero for the drag knife.
