That looks like a good idea. Thanks. How did you attach them to each side? I might try printing the egg holders in TPU to see how they hold up. Seems like they may be sturdy enough to hold eggs.

I redid the 3 main mounts & only using 2-M5x12mm screws to hold them to the V-Slot. The egg motor mount might need 2 more screws, but will try it like this for 1st fit.

I like your TPU idea. I have just never tried printing with it, otherwise I would have tried the same thing you are planning. If I recall, I 3d printed some pieces with flat ends that I screwed those pieces onto.

I am finally getting back to this design. I had some printer problems to resolve before I could start printing this. I added most of the hardware to the design to pick up problems & did find a few interferences that were easy to resolve. The only other thing I will change are the endcaps. Think I will make them single endcaps similar to the way they are now. I want to make another variable adjustment for the distance between the V-Slots using a slotted hole on the one end. Think I am ready to print all the parts except the endcaps & the parts that hold the egg in place. Here is what it looks like now.

I have most of the parts printed now. I started looking at redoing the Pen motor mount to have the V-slot connection on the other side to make it easier to adjust that mount if the egg was in place. I didn't really like the way the mount would look, so am going to leave that as is for now. I was originally going to use an M8 rod for the idler connection, but then realized 5/16" (7.9375mm) bolts will work just as well & would be easier to design for. These bolts are used on the MPCNC machine. I made the egg holder on the idler side threaded to connect to that bolt which is less design than a set screw and the handle fits over the hex head. I did have to use the set screw connection on the motor side of the egg. It might be time to start putting this together. I still need a couple of short motor cables & P/S for the Uno.

Starting putting it together last night. Looks like I do not need a P/S for now. This LED strip I bought a while back & have not utuilized yet happens to have a 12v 3A Power supply that should work for this. I just need to buy a DC Power Jack Adapter Plug Female Pigtail to be able to connect it the 12v terminals on the CNC shield. Now I am looking for some short nema 17 cables. I am having a hard time finding any shorter than 1 meter. I could always cut them to size & splice the wires, but would prefer to just find some short ones. Seems like I saw some 400mm-500mm lengths, but can't find them now. 12" lengths is probably all I really need. I also need to find a spring which I think I have around here somewhere. I am considering redoing the idler mount to not use bearings & make the internal length the same as if the bearings were there. I will at least test print a part to see how good it feels. Would probably print that in PETG instead of the esun PLA+. I also have to print the egg mount for the motor side. Here are all the parts I have together so far. I will make the electronics case more enclosed after I see how all the connections fit together. I printed a plastic egg for reference.

I started looking at putting an order together for the electronics parts I still need & came across the CNC Shield V4 using the Arduino Nano. I read that grbl has some problems with this board, but that should not be relevant to using it with the eggduino firmware. I really like it being one board & it has a barrel jack on the board for plugging in the 12v power supply brick I am planning to use. With the CNC shield V3 that I have, I would need to get a DC powerjack pigtail to plug the power supply into the Shield. There is one by keyestudio that is less than $5 for just the board & another no name brand for a $1 or so less. I was looking on ebay or aliexpress for the board. They are also on Amazon, but more expensive there & probably the same board as the other places. I already have a nano board & some driver chips. I have seen where people have used the nano board with the eggduino, so that shouldn't be a problem. I also uploaded the firmware the nano I have to see if that worked ok & it did, but no further testing other than that yet. I will ponder it a day or so before ordering & to see if anyone comments pros or cons of this.

Would you share the files? I ordered a CNC shield v4 and have all the parts to build the eggbot but all the eggbots which are available now are not as good as yours! I hate printing a frame for 20h where the mounting holes are different for my board.

I uploaded a zip file of all the STL files as well as a sketchup file of the assembly to the Files and Drawings tab. The sketchup file should be useful to see how the parts go together. Let me know if I missed something. I finally received my CNC shield last week, so I will finish this as soon as I finish my current project.

I wait 3 Weeks for delivery from the V-Slot Profil. Now I must see they deliverd the wrong one without "V-Slot". Now the 3D Printed Parts dont fit inside.
Can you please send me the STEP files from this Build ? Than i can remove the V Slot Marks @ the Parts and Print me new fast.
I cant Change STL files :-(.
Please help Me out with the STEP Files and SAVE MY EASTER. :-(

You are in luck. I had exported all my fusion 360 files to Step files last fall. I added the zip file VEggBot_StepFiles_210327.zip to the files area which has all the stp files. If you would prefer the fusion 360 files, I have them also. There might be a couple different versions of some of the parts, but did not take the time to sort them out. The file VEggBot v20 v1.stp is the complete assembly. Happy Easter
