I have a LEAD 1515 with BlackBox. I only got it assembled last week and am working on some simple projects as practice.
So far the machine seems to be working well but it feels like the control is having some major lags on my computer. When I start Control, connect the USB cable, turn on the power supply, turn on the BlackBox. Then I press the "connect" in Control and it takes at least 3-5 minutes before it actually connects. Once in a while it will respond quickly to commands like jogging or homing but most of the time if I select something like home or set zero it can take 5 or more minutes for the program to respond. Once everything is set up and I press play it seems to work perfectly but even pause, stop and abort can have long delays when I press them.
The computer I am running it on is a decently new laptop that seems to be able to handle 3d modeling and that sort of task without trouble.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might have done wrong or be able to do to fit it.

    Thank you
    Kent

Try a different computer as a test.

Can't even imagine what could cause that, or that it even works, because CONTROL has a 30 second timeout before it gives up finding the device. So something on that computer is literally skewing time. Get your IT guy in to fix the computer itself.
Maybe a reformat and clean windows insta will help, maybe it needs something else, maybe a replacement.

Sorry for the delayed thank you Peter. I appreciate your reply I am not sure what was happening with that computer but I tried with another older computer that I had planed to set up in the garage anyways and it works much smoother and more like I had expected it to in the first place.

    Thank You

Just a stab here, but is it possible that two instances of Control were running? I recently had the exact same symptoms twice and both times its because two instances of Control were running.
