Newbie G code help.

    I just ran some g-code on the Lead 1010 w black box and Interface.
    All went well except at the end where it didn't go to Home which for this machine is
    front left corner of the spoil board.

    It went in the opposite direction to the back right corner. I only have 3 limit switches
    so I had to stop it on the interface before it crashed.

    I got an idea what's going on here and I plan to get more limit switches.
    But until then How do I stop it from doing that?

    Please use the correct post processor for OB and Fusion found here: docs:software:fusion360 [OpenBuilds Documentation] It will save you from headaches down the road.

    In the post properties you can set where you want it to go at the end.

    Also, read up on how grbl handles machine coordinates. Everything is in negative space. It will explain why it went back to the far right corner, which is 0,0 in grbl by default with G28 unless you've set that offset which doesnt sound like you have. gnea/grbl

    it went home, machine home is X+ Y+ Z+ (-:
    it uses the GRBL values for X and Y travel to offset from your front left switches to back right where it belongs.

    ah, yeah, there are variations on homing setup that can do that instead. hmmmm.....

    So the question then is "did you ever set G28".
    If you open the serial console and enter a $# and send it GRBL will reply with the current offsets, if G28 is not 0,0,0 then that is where it was going, 0,0,0 would/should be home.

    Becomes moot if you use the Openbuilds postprocessor which really only cares that Z home is 'high up away from the bed'

    Answer is no I did not. :)

    I does work as intended in the OB Control software in simulation.
    I'm thinking it had more to do with me not setting the WCS properly in Fusion 360
    and not using the correct post processor when saving a .gcode file from Fusion 360.

    The first code you posted was using G54 which is correct. If you dont set a WCS it will default to that. So, no, that's not the reason. Side note, the OB post will throw a warning if you dont set WCS to 1, but its just a warning. It will default to G54 just like the grbl post that comes with Fusion. I used to always forget to set it to 1 so I got smart and right clicked it and selected save as default. Now all new setups will default to 1 instead of 0.

    Sort of. I made the suggestion to use OpenBuilds processor to make your life easier. There are a slew of issues with the built in grbl post that have been addressed in the OB post. The only reason it solves your issue is because it doesnt call out G28, like in your first file, which you havent set properly in order to use it correctly.
