Hello guys, I'm sharing this video documenting my experience cutting for the first time with my OpenBuilds C-Beam Plate Maker! I bought this machine mainly to cut aluminum so I skipped the wood cutting and went straight to aluminum. It seemed to handle it effortlessly with my initial settings. Cut accuracy for these initial tiny blocks was within +/-0.005 which is impressive for a hobby machine. Can't wait to cut larger parts next as I use this machine initially to make upgrade parts for itself and for my other router. Thank you Rick! All possible thanks to your team as well. The attached gray piece is what I like to call an "Air Diverter". I designed and 3D printed it to simply direct the exhaust air of the 611 from axially downwards to radially outwards. I did this to keep the dust and chips from being blown all over the place while also increasing the chances of sucking them all up with my vacuum. It works great in my other router cutting wood. I noticed cutting aluminum with this machine that the heavier chips are more difficult to catch by my vacuum. Carlos (Chachin..)
