error code 31

    I was attempting to run my first ever cut of the Hello world example the machine locked up in the middle of cutting the H I can't clear , move or jog,, please help ! Thanks

    Have you re-booted the CNC and your computer?

    error 31 is 'invalid gcode word in block', since an error in the actual gcode is unlikely (please post the code for checking) this points to a USB communication problem.

    use a short USB cable, like 1 or 2 feet
    use a good usb cable, that has ferrite filter blobs on the ends.
    keep the usb cable away from all other power cables, esp router and stepper motor cables and the laptop psu

    Thanks for the reply, I am using the USB cable provided in my build kit. I am attempting to send a screenshot ,,, working on it

    I checked all these and Yes it could be the EMI,, My question is should I be able to home the machine and restart after shutting down and restarting my lap top?,, right now the router/ spindle is right were it was why the machine stooped​

    Manually jog it to safety before homing

    Ok Folks, It appears As you all said I had the lap top too close to he EMI. ran a successful cut last night, just night have come out better with a smaller End mill. Thanks again !
