    1) check machine is properly set up
    2) check that its not locked/alarmed
    3) check the serial log for clues
    4) make sure the gcode is grbl compatible

Post screenshots and gcode file for more help

I have a question, Been running for a while now on my HP Omen desktop computer. Hooked it up a MAC I just acquired, got that running, now my HP wont recognize my black box controller and I'm dead in the water. Any suggestions?

It still works with the MAC, but I only use it really to move around the axis

Did the USB driver get removed or perhaps corrupted?

Try different ports on the Hp.maybe a dead usb port. Different cable, device manager, reboot, reformat. The usual windows trickery

Wondows huh? always put it back in the USB port it was plugged into. Using a new USB socket changes the COM port number....

I've attached a screenshot. I did get the port to talk once but it didn't connect as you can see from the screenshot. Somewhere I read to try to flash the box. that didn't work. Should have never plugged it into a MAC. Tried all the ports. The ports all individually work with an external media device. Still works on the MAC no problem.

    Side problem:
The MAC will stop in the middle of a job, but if you press pause then go, it will continue as normal.

Screenshot again, but dont crop it. Show the whole window, might have clues. Also screenshot device manager with Ports expanded

asked for a manufacturer and model, not sure which one to pick. I downloaded the driver files separately, and also the installer version. Still says no driver installed.

Wanted to see the whole window, top toolbar, whats in the port selection, etc. Not the log :)

BlackBox as FT232 on it, refer docs:blackbox:install-drivers [OpenBuilds Documentation]

But your computer's chipset drivers also seem messed up, so head over to the motherboard manufacturer's support pages, grab latest chipset/usb drivers and reinstall those too

Problem Solved. Cable too long. (9ft) I bought an extra cable recently. Worked fine until I started noticing intermittent communication issues with mac while running programs. Wouldn't connect at all with the PC. Note to self. Don't use an extra long cable for USB without power booster.

I feel so guilty - or lucky - when I see you repeatedly tell people this. My USB cable is 10 feet long and I have never had a problem. :) But I have also not tried any long 3D relief cuts. For everyone else, don't listen to me.

Purely luck. Or a good PC. Most cheaper motherboards have USB chips with weak signals, or susceptible to EMI
