[IMG] When I design a file in Inkscape and then open in the Openbuilds cam software it isn't opening correctly. Designing a tool tray for shadowing tools and I place them all in correct order in inkscape and sent to Cam when it opens in cam the tools are scattered. I've attached the inkscape file. Note I've been creating these designs for a couple months and I've successfully imported to Cam Software without problems numerous times. this problem just started today.

Yea done that as well. Not sure whats going on, The older files I have made are importing fine but design I made yesterday and design I made today, both are not importing correctly. I have to reposition items once in Cam software, Maybe it's a inkscape issue.

Out of curiosity I tried it in Estlcam. Looks the same as above. I also noticed several screwdrivers are missing. I don't know if this helps.

Then I opened it up in Inkscape and saved it as a .dxf and it looks right.

Weirder yet, when I open the .dxf I created from the original .svg that was posted above in Inkscape and save it as an .svg, it works just fine. I made no modifications to the drawing at all at any stage of my "testing." Weird...

Selecting one of the rectangles that end up in the wrong place, so I can find its ID under that object's object properties: "rect5932" in this case

    upload_2020-6-29_14-52-3.png

Look at the XML of the SVG in a text-editor and find "rect5932"

    upload_2020-6-29_14-53-7.png

I find two objects in a group ( <g> = group) (makes sense from what we see above, handle and metal part of screw driver I assume) - but AH! It's two <rect> objects ... Not <path> objects as it should be.

    So....

still stands... Read the links to the documentation above, and do remember to convert all other entity types (rect, arc, circle, text, etc) to Paths

Ungrouped everything (ctrl+a, ctrl+shift+g a couple times to ungroup any nested groups) , selected all (ctrl+a), Path > Object to Path (ctrl+shift+c) > Saved (attached)

    Loads fine now
