I think it has more to do with the placement of bolt holes more then anything else.
A higher placement does mean more teeth come in contact with the belt

Started a new job, and decided to move "Babe" and "the Panther" into the basement for the winter. Leg kit for the table should be here by the weekend, and new lights are up in the basement.

Been working on a group deal for the screws/nuts for the Lautr3k. Got that deal put together and bought several spools of filament from FoxSmart. Hopefully back to the builds this weekend.

One day I will convince the wife that it is a good thing for me to have a CNC Router and will have one of your kits. They look top notch. Maybe I should just start buying bits and pieces before she realizes what is happening.

The usps or ups delivery always bust my plans like that. My defense is well its paid for and not on the credit card so live with it. I still catch the evil eye tho lol

    Hi Nick,

Usually a deal can be reached with the wife re; new shoes, handbags etc. which are offset against CNC parts. ;)

    Hi Robert,

Well my set arrived yesterday, most impressed, some awesome workmanship in that little box, and as commented by others, packaging must have taken a while, it's spot on.

What I'm not so impressed with are my powers of deduction, which seem to have escaped me, I can't figure out what the bag with the four plastic clips are for, can you enlighten me? Anyhow, just waiting on my openbuilds order to arrive (Stopped by customs for extra charges ) then it's on with the build.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew, going for a Spindle/3D Printer/Laser combo (after seeing the awesome work done at http://hobbycncart.com/forum/63-151-8, check it out).

Also check out which I think is one of the coolest things.

    Wish me luck.

Lol Ty for the kind words, I don't like to send out anything that I wouldn't be happy with receiving myself and I try to pack them well due to the horrifying way most post handle their packages.
I have added the little clips as a extra in the kit to aid in routing your wires, here is a pic of how I use them in my builds :)
    image.jpg
They have an M5 hole in the centre and attach with a M5 8mm screw/t-nut.
Perfect for tie strapping loose or stray wires ;)

    P.S
That is completely possible for you and I believe Digger is on the same path ;)
I built and sent him a TTL laser driver board "same circuit as laser v build" that will turn on and off his laser with a simple 5 volt logic signal.
let me know if you require any help
A good read through the laser v build would guide you well enough I think :)

Thanks Robert, that is very cool, I had been thinking of ways to deal with the no doubt ridiculous amount of wiring, and this will be a great help in keeping things neat.

I have indeed read the Laser V thread several times through, that is what inspired me initially to look into the lasers and come across the build I linked to above, so thanks for that also, I am sure I will require a great deal of help and will be sure to hassle you constantly (only kidding :D)

Digger, interesting that you are following the same path, I'll be sure to let you know of anything that I come across that may be of help (like the thread I referenced above, which you probably already found long ago)

    Some other interesting/useful links:

    http://www.instructables.com/id/Shapeoko-2-Arduino-UNO-R3-grbl-9g-8bit-Raster-Phot/

Apologies, they are slightly off topic, back to the OX AI :)

It has bin confirmed the the Z axis spacer block "mounting holes on the X plate only " need to be drilled with a 13/64 bit taking them from 5mm to 5.1mm
This is something that I used to do to clean up the holes to make them true circles and why I never had complaints , I increased the poly count in sketchup thinking this would clear the need for post drilling but has caused the compatibility with OB spacer blocks to arise.
So a good thing and bad has come of it, thank god it's a simple fix folks.
I will be correcting the file as soon as my spacer blocks show, about 2 days out ;)

Can you send me a price for the entire kit sent to 78612(Texas). Also, is there a someplace that lists everything that is provided and what else is required that is not in the kit?

    Hello Robert.

The file you are talking about is the "OX AI.zip" that's on the "File Tab"?
If so, is there any way to see when that file is updated?

    Thanks :)

My account is no longer working on the OB forum, I have done all I can from my side but it seems my log in info has bin removed

Outstanding payments that need to clear, the kits will ship as soon as I get confirmation of payment.

I have two four plate sets that simply require a light sanding to clean up the scuffs from scotch pads.

This is a chance for someone to save some cash

I will pack them up and post when ready to ship.

One kit is also being finished and then will be posted

After that no more plate service over OB, sorry the greedy have ruined that big time.

Mark bud, I feel for you and apologize if this matter was a result of shady competition, think someone is a little upset
