Newbie - Cheap build and basic questions

    Hello,

    I have a Workbee 1500x1500 and I would like to convert use it for laser printing to print mdf 8mm toys.

    Is it correct? If not, what could I take as a cheap module to start? What should I pay attention? Power, focus, technology, ...?
    Due to the size of my machine and my workshop I will not be able to create a full case around my machine.
    I could create a shield in front of the machine and of course wearing glasses. Is it reasonable enough or is it too dangerous?
    I also see that some of you use an air vacuum pump to avoid fire, again I will not be able to do it is it reasonable in terms of security?
    What else should I consider to buy for this upgrade? I see that some of you use a heat absorption plate and some advice to just use terracotta tile should I have some?
    sorry about all those newbie question If you have some guides it could be valuable too :)

    8mm MDF will need at least a 40w laser, even then, it will be very slow, a 80w would be better

    Since its MDF, why not mill it? Diode lasers are good for engraving, but cutting, is more of a gimmick, the seller may have a sped up video showing it cutting 3mm acrylic in 10 passes at 200mm/min but practically, no one wants to sit through that :)
    For cutting, you really do have to go for a CO2 laser
