I finally have my machine built but having an issue with homing the z axis. In the open builds control software I loaded the workbee 1010 config and saved it. I can jog the machine and will stop in all directions when I depress the limit switches. My problem is when I try to home the z axis goes down towards the waste board away from the limit switch. Wiring looks correct. Is there something in software settings that I have to change? Pressing z+ on the laptop to jog and it goes down toward the wasteboard.

Have you looked at this gnea/grbl
If you look at the explanation for step port invert, mask it explains how the mask works - it is a binary mask so to invert X and Y you need to set (decimal) 3, to invert Z only would be (decimal) 4 etc. Please read all of the wiki - to invert the homing direction is (dollar) 23. (based in the UK - haven't got a dollar sign on my phone keyboard)
    Alex.

Hi Bruce, double check your grbl settings, do you see the Z axis inverted pin selected? If so turn that pin off and it should correct your problem for both step direction and homing direction. I uploaded a picture of the software to show you the default settings I saw when opening the WorkBee 1010.
