This is a great build! What would a person need to do for a set of the plans for the wood body? I would love to build one for myself.
Once again, great job and I hope to hear back from you.

Hi SteelRain, great to hear that you like the machine. In the 'Parts List' tab I've listed all wooden parts (plywood & beechwood) of the machine. Together with the drawings in Video 1 from 1:19 - 1:30 should allow you to reconstruct the build. If you're using a CAD software I could also share the drawing file with you.

I am intrigued by your build I am interested in building from your ideas as your machine appears perfect for my needs. I have downloaded your parts list and am interested in a drawing if you would send it. Preferably in a .dwg file format. Thank you for your videos.

Hi BooTec, I really like your CNC. Great job..! I'm very excited to start building my own CNC. I have many doubts but I have to watch the videos carefully. Could you please send me the CAD files or any construction drawings in any other format. I will try not to bother you so much when starting my project. Thanks a lot..!

Great build, looking to make one myself... I may have missed it in the video (maybe?) but what is the working space on this? Max width, length and height.

I found the youtube video for this machine and it was inspiring. It set me on a journey to learn more, as there are a couple ways in which my existing CNC router is falling short. Many people will think that building a CNC machine out of wood is crazy, but I'm not one of them. In particular, the base you've created seems a very stable platform for the gantry rails, especially when you consider the stabilizing effect of the table itself, if securely attached.. I can imagine a couple improvements, and maybe even adding some steel reinforcement here and there, but I think the basic design is very clever and there is a ton to be learned from it. It can also be easily customized. Thank you!

I do have a couple questions, having shared your design with an experienced CNC friend of mine. Are you concerned about wood dust getting into the linear rails and/or ball screws? My friend expressed concern about this. The worry is wood dust getting into the ball bearings and causing them to start sliding instead of rolling. Have you thought about this, the quality of the seals, or run into any problems? Also, how have you found the rigidity of the gantry and carriage to be? How hard have you pushed it?

I'm very interested your answers. I may be tempted to create something similar, at least as far as the base assembly design and construction.

I've been looking at this build and it's one of the best builds out there. It could do with plans however and there's some wiring on the cnc shield that's not fully explained ( at 7.10 there's a blue/red wire bridge on the y connector .)

Which guide type should I choose?
    • MGN7 H
    • MGN9 H
    • MGN12 H
    • MGN15 H
    • MGN7 C
    • MGN9 C
    • MGN12 C
    • MGN15 C
It seems to me that MGN12H was used in the project. But I'm not 100% sure
