    Hello everyone
I have ardunio uno using grbl panel running a c beam type cnc
I was trying out openbuilds g code generator
Glad to see that the file works well with my system:)
with one problem...was testing 20mm by 60mm rectangle with a hole in the middle

somehow runs on my machine 10mm by 35mm hole is placed in the middle ???
I used openbuilds to design rectangle
any ideas what settings I have to play with

Over a year messing with this machine and I am sooo close to actually making something

2nd question do files created in sketchup work well with openbuilds g code generator?
    Thanks for any input
    Casey

OpenBuilds CONTROL -> Grbl Setting Tab (After connecting to board) -> Scroll down to $100-102 and use either the Calculator or Fine tuning wizards to calibrate your Steps Per MM

NB NB - I know its a pain, but it will be well worth reading the Grbl Wiki - since its a custom machine you'd need to know what all the settings do: gnea/grbl

The openbuilds cam app imports DXF , SVG, image, gerber and excellon files.
So would need to get Sketchup to output one of those formats, DXF is probably the best to use.

However, I believe it would be better to just generate Gcode directly from Sketchup.
I assume you are asking because you are already familiar with Sketchup so this will be easy.
You need to install the SketchUcam plugin and then watch the videos:
    SketchUcam Howto - YouTube

Yes, this Gcode will work well with the Openbuilds Controller feeding gcode to any GRBL based controller.

I kinda knew it as something to do with the steps
had the same problem with a laser burner , would just make ovals and not circles
well back to learning, I'm close...sometime this summer
    Thanks for your reply

    David thanks once again
Got a bit of figuring out to do to tailor grbl steps, but I feel I have some programs I can put some faith in that will run together
Been testing everything I can get my hands on
should of just went with Keeping It Simple
    Thanks for all your advice
