    I would look at getting some custom plates made to attach your tall gantry supports with. The way you have it designed there is going to be an incredible amount of deflection when it is raised up to the higher levels. Just a thought for you :)

    Thanks for the input Anthony. This did cross my mind and I am still slightly concerned about it. Do you think using C-Beam instead of the V-slot for the gantry sides would help? Once it's built I could attempt to cut gantry plates myself, if it has enough precision of course.

    The issue is the plates that connect to the rails, the wider the plate, the more stable it will be. Cbeam would help, but not sure if that is enough.

    A good rule of thumb is that for every 2" in height you would want at least 1" in width for the connecting plate. But the wider the better.

    I See - with that math I would need a plate thats ~9.5" wide (500mm = roughly 19 inches /2 > 9.5) without accounting for whats lost on the gantry plate and thickness of the C-Beam.

    At that point I should just go with something like this right? (picture attached)
