    Hi Carlos,

It's went through a major rebuild. I had vibration problems at 100+ mm/sec speeds and printing flex filament with .5mm nozzles. The re-work now has two threaded rods for the Z axis that are run by one Z motor. The drive rod on the left is married to the driven rod on the right with a close-loop belt. That will eliminate the vibration problem while still eliminating the level creep.

Took 10 days to order the belts from China and my first set of Melzi boards were defective. I'm hooking up the electronics today so I should have an update here over the weekend - provided I don't run into any problems with this new set of Melzi boards I'm changing over to.

Oh bumps :-/ I hope you can make progress with this.

I'm needing a printer that is faster than my current printer (50mm/s) also i want to use different filaments (nylon, bronze fill, etc) and something that i can buy in kits to build myself.

    Have a productive weekend :)

Nice build Keith, I'm a big fan of one z-axis motor driving multiple screws.

Still learning the art/skill/fine touch of 3D printing but one thing I have to say is, it is really nice being able to sit down to a OneZ Whisper (i2, for now ;) ) and not having to worry about the bed being level. This way I can focus on other aspects of printing. Thanks alot Keith!

I finally got some pictures of the OneZ i3 today. So tomorrow (I hope) I'll be starting a new build project here at OpenBuilds for the i3.

My plan is to add pictures to that build project of your custom i3 with 300x300 heat bed & dual extruder as I build it. Those extra long linear rods were supposed to be here yesterday but USPS shows them still stuck in Calif where they've been since Thur so no telling when they'll arrive. But it looks like the Chimera ordered Fri night will be here tomorrow - go figure.

    Here's the regular i3

And, in spite of the fact that I have all the plastic printed a 90% of the parts in, here's the current state of your custom monster printer

Nice! You are right, that gold really looks good! You'll have to find some free time - that is when I'm not throwing more changes at you - to come up with that website you had mentioned where people could post what they've printed using your printers to create. I expect to have some interesting parts done using "the monster" that's for sure.

From Argentina, I need to ask if this printer is currently running and if you can upload printed parts results.

I no longer have a OneZ. It was developed 3 years ago and got cannibalized for newer models along the way.
