    Hi,

I would like to know the differences between lead screw and belt? The pros and cons. My application requires some speed. My 1st prototype is using belt and doing alright. I want to try out the C-beam with lead screw for my second prototype. I wonder if it can move as fast as the belt system using the same stepper. Any help would be appreciated.

There is an explanation here of the difference between the two types. (Start with the second paragraph.) If you need more than that, let me know.

Thank you. I see the difference in resolution. To cover the same distance, the screw system has to work 8 times as much as the belt do. In my application, speed is more important than accuracy. I guess I have to use belt then.
