I'm adding a 10w diode laser to my 1010 open frame cnc running a black box. I'll be using the toggle switch to switch from cnc to laser. I have 2 IOT switches, one for the router, one for the dust collector. I want to add an on board air pump to run with the laser only while it's in use. Do I need another IOT switch for the air pump and where would I pull that signal from to run the air pump? Currently I have the PWM terminal to the toggle switch to the IOT for the router, the coolant terminal is running the dust collector. Can I run the air pump off of one of the other terminals on the "head terminal" socket since I am only using the PWM and ground? If need be I can put another toggle to switch the air pump active when I activate the laser mode. Or can this be done? Not sure if I'm on the right track here. I haven't run anything as of yet, still putting it together. I appreciate any input.

Use a double pole switch in place of existing one (double pole, double throw) = just one lever, switch both circuits - easier to not forget one

    does it matter which one?

where else could I get the signal from?
the only other port not in use is the relay and the door, would one of those work? If so do I need to change any of the $ settings to make it operate?

Grbl has ONE tool output. Thus no "signals" for multiple tools.

Toggle tool signal between IOT and Laser with one leg of the switch
Toggle coolant signal between dust collector and air pump with other leg

One flip of the switch, both done. Use a Double Pole (one leg for each tool) Double Throw (switch back and forth between two endpoints) DPDT switch

Alternatively Air pump could probably just always be on with dust collector also *plugged into same IoT's port), its not like its going to interfere; and dust extractor running during laser jobs will be good for clearing smoke and soot so I wouldn't bother splitting them really

thank you Peter, bear with me for one more noob question. Can the coolant signal be split to another IO T relay one relay for the air pump and one relay for the dust collector to run with the laser, that way the pump only runs with the laser and the dust collector will always be on to run with both.

Thats exactly the solution proposed above yet. Using the DPDT switch. Same concept as you did for router/laser, but applied on the coolant output. Instead of two single pole switches, get one double pole double throw

As air pump is mains power, the IoT was implied, as you are already familiar with them

Correct, just one gotcha I forgot to mention: on the Coolant output is just to use the negative leg (its a low-side switching mosfet circuit onboard)
Coolant [+] and both IoTs [+] terminals always connected, the negative runs through the switch.
The negative leg is switched by the M8/9 command - not the positive.
