I bought a 24V brake for my Z-axis stepper (datasheet attached for reference). The brake operates as N/C (engaged) without power and engages when it sees 24V. My intent is to use the brake when the stepper is not set in hold mode by the X32, ie. when the controller is off.

Is there a 24V (.5a) source available on the X32 that would accomplish this?

    Thanks,
    Matt

That's the only controllable output. Maybe directly off the PSU then? Machine power on, is brake powered? Machine off for the night no power to Brakes

Sounds like that’s gonna be the best option, figured I’d run it by the experts first.

    Thanks for your input.
