New and just getting started. Maybe I am missing something everywhere I look on the internet forums and You Tube Fusion 360 is what a lot of people are using, I just tried to export or save a file to load into OpenBuilds Cam and DXF.,DWG. and more are all upgrades in Fusion 360. If I figure out how to use cam in Fusion will that load right into Control and run or is there some other software that most people are using. All of my designs will be very straight foward and simple.
    Thanks

Fusion360 CAM can generate gcode files that can be loaded straight into Control.

    It's a three stage process:
    1) Make a 3D model in the Design space (CAD)
    2) Specify machining options in the Manufacture space (CAM)
    3) Post process to generate machine control files (gcode)

You will need to set it up with the correct "Post Processor" so that it outputs the correct dialect of gcode for a GRBL controller (which is what the BB32 is). There is a generic GRBL post processor from Autodesk, or one more tailored to Openbuilds that you need to install (link). I'm not sure which is most appropriate for plasma cutting (assuming that's what you want to do).

HOWEVER - the learning curve for CAM is steep. If you're only looking at 2D profiles, you can save Fusion360 *sketches* as DXF files in the "free" version - right click on the sketch in the feature tree and it should show the option to 'save as DXF' so you could use a simpler CAM program.

I sure you are right but I can't find that option in my drop down. I am in the garage right now trying some light cutting and I don't have my mouse I never use one but now I have to. so i am two fingering my laptop that just doesn't sound right but I am if that gives me the same as right clicking I can't find it. I can do alot of saving or exporting but only to the cloud. If you hit the file tab in the tool bar then hit export it will read if you want to export DXF and more you have to up grade to the paid software. Please tell me I am wrong I have trying to learn Fusion for a couple of weeks.
Thanks for your I hope help. I'll try with my mouse when I go in.

    Yes, you are ;)

Go back to the design space and expand the tree on the left until you can see the sketch that you used to create the 3D model.

Right click on the name of that sketch and the menu in my post above should come up.

It took me awhile but I found it. Can I import it into Open Builds cam or do I have to use Fusion cam?
Thanks guys this is very helpful.

I *believe* that you can use that DXF in Open Builds CAM. (For Fusion CAM, just keep going where you were in the 'Manufacture' space - no need to export DXF.)

on the other hand I am absolutely sure which postprocessor is better for plasma, our Openbuilds post is the one (-:
The stock one is not good at anything, and does not support plasma properly, if at all (I have not checked it in a while, way back it did not do plasma, then it did, but poorly, this may have changed)

Use the link to the install instructions in my signature just below here
