I keep getting the error : The procedure entry point GetPackageFamilyName could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll.
I was able to roll back to 1.0.317 so I can keep running for now.

Old version of Windows? Needs Windows 10 or 11. See Microsoft Windows

Are there other control options for the X32 besides the OB app that can run on older versions of windows?

Stick to older versions of CONTROL (but miss out on Bugfixes, New features, security updates, integrations and many more). Very little current software will install on older Windows anymore (Chrome, skype, and many more. Fusion 360 soon). Windows 7/8/8.1 is dead (5+ years out of support)

You might want to add a note to the part store page for the X32 that spells out that it is only compatible with the OB software and requires W10 and higher versions to operate properly.

Its not "only" compatible with our software (runs standard Grbl/grblHAL) and you can use any other host. But we strongly recommend CONTROL for all the tools, wizards and profiles etc you will need.

The choice of using an OS 5-10 years out of date and thus having a less than optimal experience (having to use 3rd party software, no access to machine profiles and other tools) is sadly your choice.

Windows 10 has been around for almost 7 years.

One need not list every retired Operating Systems version as being Not supported as the vendor (Microsoft) has end-of-lifed support for it for the entire industry publicly and continually.

Staying up to date is just a part of life. We gave it an extra 5 years but now even we cannot as Electron also retired it (which we build upon). See Farewell, Windows 7/8/8.1 | Electron for a more indepth look.
Its not just us, the older OSs cause more problems than solving them.

Updating is easy. Sleep on it - you'll come to the right conclusion

Well, it looks like I am stuck with 1.0.317 since it does not make much sense to go from the stable Win7 OS to the buggy crash ridden Win10.
