I did try searching the forums and found a post from 5/22, but it didn't show anything I haven't already tried.

What I've tried (on 2 separate computers)

-uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers first and then the software
-Changing cables (all cables cause it to show up in Dev. Manager, but with an exclamation warning)
-Updated my newest and most used laptop to Windows 11 and ran a driver updater
-Cycled the power on the CnC controller several times
-Probably a few things I'm forgetting.

    Any other ideas?

When you click the port box do you get a drop down?

Did you remember to install drivers? Section 4.1 of the BlackBox Documentation (also remember to do section 4.2)

No, nothing pops up in the dropdown.

Yes, newest drivers are installed. And I've turned off USB selective suspend. Although, on the Windows 11 computer, it didn't give me the option from the power menu like the older computer did. I had to turn it off using a command prompt "powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226 0"

**For anyone needing that in the future, I found it here... https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-usb-selective-suspend-in-windows-11.10251/

However, I still can't connect to the machine and nothing shows up in the dropdown for ports.

Have you tried a test with just BlackBox (no other wiring attached) and USB. No power, limits, motors, etc. Nothing but the USB cable (just to eliminate external Accesories)

Well, last night, when I was up for a couple of hours, I couldn't get anything to working. So I left it all as it was and went back to bed. Now, I get up and it's connecting just fine after no further changes. It's always great when you get it fixed and have no idea what fixed it. LOL

But, for now, it's working. I'll update if something goes awry.

Okay, so I have this running just fine on my newer laptop with Windows 11. Initially it was throwing the same error as the older laptop. I'm not sure what's wrong or even where to look, but on the older laptop I had it running just fine. Turned off OB Controller, shut down the power on the CNC and then rebooted everything and I get the error in the pic.

I've got everything updated to the T, so that shouldn't be it. It seems to be hit/miss on whether it shuts down the port or goes ahead and works fine. But I'm afraid to run any jobs through it thinking it might shut down in the middle and screw something up.

I would replace the USB cable with a quality item, 4 feet or less.

I've tried swapping the USB cable. Nothing.
