Hi! I'm using OpenBuilds V1.0.312 combined with a CNC Shield V3 from AZDelivery and an arduino. I'm having issues with my Z limit switch. XY limit switches are working fine and the issue isn't the switch since I tested it on the XY ports and then it works. It most likely not the CNC Shield either since I have had the same issue with 2 unique CNC Shields. I'm guessing its software? Do I have to toggle on the Z limit switch in software or something? I've tested z- and z+ ports. I can literally put jumpers over z+ and z- and nothing! Am I dumb? Se pics.
Which Arduino pin are you using for the Z limit switch? With grbl 1.1 it should be pin 12 on the Arduino. Alex.
Fake/Knockoff chinese supply CNC shields are for Grbl 0.9 that used different pinouts. If bought from the original supplier it would have been the updated versions. See Genuine Protoneer CNC Shield v3.51 for Arduino Engraver CNC GRBL 1.1 and rather support the people designing the product in the first place. They will keep selling clones as long as people keep buying them - with no regard for the fact that Grbl 1.1 has been out for 6 years - and those were cloned from Protoneers Grbl 0.9 boards
Judging by the symptoms they don't seem to be. Not sure of official suppliers in Germany, but if you are unsure, check in with Protoneer Did a quick check into AZ Delivery's site and see Arduinos with CH340 usb chips too they are just aliexpress resellers it seems.
Thank for the help! I will order real boards now. Soldering shouldnt be a problem, I have some experince.
