    Hello,

Sorry for this may be easy question. Have never try Probe functionality in Openbuilds Control and do not want to break the bit or even something worse because of wrong action.

I am going to try Z - Probe (only), using the dedicated plate. The plate thickness is 19 mm.
So, I perform the probe circle using Openbuilds control soft which is ended that after finding (contacting) probe surface the bit goes up by several mm, probably 5 mm and stops on the 24 mm.

My Z working coordinate shows Z= 24 mm.

What is the next action? Should I lower the bit by 24 mm, executing appropriate G code command, and push the button "zero xyz" on the screen before running my G-code

    or

I can run my G-code without lowering the bit by 24 mm down, in case the control's soft already knows that it should lower it by itself before execution of the G-code.

Do not know if I describe the question clearly.

If it shows 24mm, and is 24mm above zero, that's correct after all. You can use the GOTO zero buttons to check
