    Happy new year everyone!

I'm working through the V-Carve pro learning curve. So far so good, thanks to the help and advice from all. I've run into a toolpath strategy obstacle and I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I'm stuck. Attached is the .crv file for a simple tool tray that I'm trying to cut. I can't figure out which toolpath strategy or type of tool to use for the text / numbers part of the job.

Thanks in advance for taking a look!

    Robert

As far as I know, only those folk who have your version (or later) of V-carve will be able to open your file.

It's late here in the UK, but I'll try to have a look tomorrow if no-one else chips in, but an important question is what do you want the text to look like? - using a V-bit to engrave it is one option, raised? flat bottomed pocket? (I haven't looked at your file yet - there may be clues in it) Any hints would be useful.

Had a quick look before bed. The text has lots of open vectors - rather than trying to find them all I used the quick engrave toolpath, 60 degree V-bit and 1mm depth - revised file attached here.

Thanks Alex. I did figure out the open vector scenario because I kept getting the open vector message when trying to calculate the tool path. Didn’t think about using a v-bit. I was using a

I should have said - I converted the text to curves when I was thinking about fixing the open vectors.
