Phoenix controller and Estlcam

    Hi,
    Has anyone used Estlcam 11.231 together with the controller card Phoenix by Hayri Uygur.
    The controller is based on Arduino Uno and runs GRBL 1.1f
    Estlecam will update the chip to its own firmware. Will that work on this card?

    It should work. In the setup in Estlcam choose GRBL 1.1.

    The problem is that Estlcam wants to write a new fw to the controller. Its own fw, that supports grbl 1.1. Will the Estlcam fw work on the controller?

    Any "grbl controller" is just a repackaged Arduino Uno- this Phoenix, the BlackBox, all of them. They're hardware projects to make it easier and safer to interface the machine to the ATMega328p MCU IC.

    If it's grbl-compatible, it's almost certainly Estl-compatible.

    There are still inherent risks to reflashing firmware, though.

    You can avoid flashing, use it as a CAM only, export gcode and send the gcode using your normal workflow
