    Hey,

I've just bought my blackbox and I was testing it yesterday on my Sphinx. I can't seem to activate my spindle ( Makita ) through thee onboard relay.

I verified the jumper setting on the control board with the documentation. It doesn't react when I try to send the control M3 or M5.

Hardware problem? If so, how can I test it?

Send it M3S1000 (if $30=1000 in grbl settings). GRBL needs an S Word because the spindle output can also be used as PWM.

Also make sure you have a the jumper installed docs:blackbox:jumper-relay [OpenBuilds Documentation]

    Thx Peter,

It works fine now. Is there a possibilty to just send M3 instead of M3S1000? M5 works fine without M5S1000.

    Grtz

You'll have to recompile Grbl and disable the Variable Spindle feature: gnea/grbl but there shouldn't be any need to, all Grbl compatible CAMs and Posts handle the S-Word for you, as does most Grbl GUIs (OpenBuilds CONTROL does add the S Words)
