    Hey,

Since the beginning of this year I've been happily carving with my Ooznest cnc without any issues, but 2 weeks ago my machine suddenly stopped working.

The machine became unresponsive on Easel as well as UGS (0.1.9 as well as the latest nightly build).
UGS keeps telling me "Grbl has not finished booting" and doesn't allow me to do anything else.

Since the last time I successfully used Easel, it recommended me to update the firmware to the newest version, I've tried to do so ever since, using different methods..
I've tried to do so with Xloader, Arduino (1.6.8 as well as the latest 1.8.3), trying different versions of the Grbl, different cables, computers.. I made sure all drivers are up to date, tried different settings etc, but nothing seems to work. I also tried the Xloader and arduino software to write a classic Arduino Uno, which worked fine.

Since I've no more ideas left, I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if my Xpro is just toast? :(

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,

Seems you have tried most methods. I have had success flashing the eeprom clear program in arduino to the xPro first, and then flashing GRBL, do you want to give that a try?

    Peter,
I did try the Grbl1.1f version.. no luck either.
I'll try again tonight after clearing the eeprom as Ryan suggested.

Hope it works. I'll keep you posted!

OK, so appearantly something worked (tried a 1000 times again, so I'm not sure what exactly worked), and I managed to upload Grbl 9.0a.
At least I can talk to my machine and it proved not to be dead, so I guess I'll keep trying to upload later versions..

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know I finally managed to install the Grbl 1.1 using a different PC using the standard X-loader method.
Seems like there is an issue with my USB ports or their drivers, since I also noticed problems with other devices.
Anyway, thanks for your help! I'm allready happily carving some name signs as we speak! :)

    Cheers!
    Simon
