Help with laser engraver config???

So I been bitten by the laser bug and want to build a nice laser cutter. I been doing lots of research and know the parts to order to make a c-beam x y cutter. But have questions on the software and the drivers.

1. I know I need xpro 3 driver for the motors. Plus a power supply for the control board.
2. Also understand I can use the laser web to controls the system.
3. What drives the laser, want to get a 2.5 - 5w laser. What controller do I need that I can use to control the laser with the laser web 3.

I missing the understanding on how the control all the pieces, stepper motors, laser with laser web.
