XYUV wire cutter Gcode generator 2014-01-28

Quick and simple wings on a hot wire cutter using Gcode

  1. David the swarfer
This started out as a quick example and ended up being useful.
It can use any of the ~1100 airfoil data files in the list to generate a simple wing cut. It assumes a XYUV machine. You tell it how far apart the wire attachment points are, what profiles to use, the sizes, etc, and it generates
a left and right wing Gcode cut file for you.

The tool is written in PHP and is independent of the web page so you can download the code and use it on your local machine, modify it, or whatever.
If you want to use airfoils that are not part of the collection, you will need to download and use it locally to access your .dat files.

Note this has no idea about burn back/kerf size, nor how speed affects kerf size. If you want fully automatic, you will have to pay someone for much fancier software (-:
