    Ty bud!

Here's my custom heatbed I designed in sketchup, milled and then added a layer of cork then aluminum tape as a insulating layer in attempt to have a faster heating time :)

Forgive my ignorance but is what I am seeing above a copper coated board (circuit board blank if you will) milled to create the heat "grid". Then backed with cork and covered with aluminum tape?

Does the copper "circuit" have the required resistance to generate the heat required for the bed?

The traces are based on the Prusa board design

The board is upside down (the cork will go under. It's meant to concentrate the heat to the top (no loss from ambiant air)

    Yes and yes again :)
    It's resistance is 3.5 ohms
This is simply an experiment in hopes of good results :nailbite:

Very nice. I will be watching to see your results. I need a larger size bed for a project and anything over 12" x 12" starts getting pretty expensive. Copper clad board can be be found pretty darn cheap and I could see a scenario where linking several boards together would be easy.

Did you use 1oz or 2oz board for your design above?
I assume your are putting a sheet of Borosilicate on top of the exposed copper grid. Is that correct?

    Keep up the good work!

Not sure of the oz count as I picked up the clad as you said cheep at my local surplus.
    $16 for a 300x300 sheet
I will be putting regular temped glass or mirror, will see what the glass cutter three doors down has on hand

BOM has been posted, minus the screws :) It's hard to measure screwed screws, but I will update it soon :) I added the .stl for the bed holder and the extruder (fixed with netfabb)
